GETTING MARRIED AT AN EARLY AGE
There is no perfect age; there is only the right age
In the past decades, getting married at an early age was a normal issue encouraged by everyone. Today, the standards of society have shifted, considering the average normal age to get wed is after the age of 25 for women and 33 for men.
Marrying young is a choice and has both plus and minus points.
PROS
No pressure of having kids:
The couple does not have to worry about conception issues and get to enjoy each other’s company.
Small age gap between parents and children:
The gap between the two generations is fair leading to a better relation between the parents and their kids.
Growing up with each other:
The couple develops and grows from childhood into adulthood together.
Easier to integrate with each other:
On the individual level, there are not much of ingrained habits and attitudes that usually age makes it more difficult to adjust.
Sharing achievements:
The couple experiences success and failures and gets to go through all the work evolution together.
Less baggage:
By marrying young couples have less emotional baggage that partners bring from their previous relationships.
CONS
Lack of understanding:
Understanding comes with maturity which only evolves with age.
Lack of compatibility:
People tend to grow in different directions and whatever used to be a union factor becomes a difference.
Financial insecurity:
Unless the young couple is already financially settled thanks to family bankrolling the path, financial squeeze might compromise the stability of the couple.
Compromises:
Marriage responsibilities deviate the couple from a chosen career. Maternity ends up a promising career while husbands may be forced to compromise or lose opportunities.
Regrets for Things Undone:
After few years of marriage, the young couple falls under the weight of responsibilities and routine, not being able to enjoy what people at their age do.
