Few are the men who can hold power in one hand and their heart in the second.
It is neither by luck nor by coincidence but rather through perseverance, hard work and absolute devotion to his country that Paul Chedid engraved his values and dreams into a promising brighter future.

Challenge is what he excels at, determination is the path he chose, a higher bar is where his ambitions stand at: thus taking a whole new generation to the next level.

Discrete yet efficient, he is the hard worker “par excellence”, a man with views, an iconic figure of a self-made manThe man of success

Occupation:
-Mayor of Mtayelb municipality, 2016
-Founder and CEO of PCD, 2006 till present
-President and founder of Mtayleb Basketball Team, 2019

Postgraduate in Business, Liverpool University

Date of Birth:
February 15,1976

Zeina Assi

Children:
Theana (2015), Alana (2016)

Hobbies:
Ski, basketball, architecture, politics

Son of Nadia and Michael Chedid, the youngest child among 3 sisters and a brother, Paul spent his childhood in his beloved Mtayleb surrounded by the love of his family. After finishing school at sacré Coeur Gemmayzeh where he was famous for his curious rebel and smart mind, he pursued his studies and graduated from the Liverpool school of Business.

He started his career in 1997 when he established Chedid luminaire selling for wholesale and retail.
In 2006 he founded PCD, a firm that soon became a leading development company, a brand name that symbolizes timeless elegance and refined luxury.
In 2018, PCD launches its first ever commercial tower in Antelias: Theana Tower (named after one of his daughters), a game changer for the residential developer.

Following his heart and wanting his town to be the reflection of how he dreams his Lebanon, Paul started the reform way before being elected the first ever mayor of Mtayleb in May 2016: a visionary state-of-the-art model municipality.

One of his most famous endeavors: in summer 2015 and following the waste management crisis in the whole country: the activist within him, the man of action, the perfectionist, all gathered in one heroic decision of removing the trash in a singular personal decision, putting to work his own team at PCD and himself, cleaning overnights the mountains of garbage disfiguring Mtayleb.

To top it all, on October 1st 2018, and from within his responsibilities as Mtayleb Mayor, Paul leads the Municipality’s basketball team to win the championship for municipalities.
Seeing the potential of his team, Mr. Chedid decides to personally lead the team up to the top of the championship in Lebanon, aiming to have regional and international cups added to his numerous victories and is now the President of Mtayleb basketball team.

Last but not the least of his endeavors and numerous acts from the heart: unable to sit and watch Sesobel’s financial crisis, Mr. Chedid runs and secures a one-month provision for the NGO’s daily expenses in the hope of many others to follow in his footsteps.

Today Paul stands for much more than what he manages daily: he’s not just the CEO of PCD, not only the mayor of Mtayleb or the president of a very promising basketball team: Mr. Chedid is the hope where no hope is left, the perfectionism in a world of carelessness.

• If you were to take a political responsibility, what would you work for?
Taking my construction background and experiences into consideration, Lebanon infrastructure is humdrum if not unexciting.
One of my first priorities is to put a well planned infrastructure strategy based on latest technologies, country and citizen needs.
Enough of random projects lacking feasibility studies which drain our national budget without really serving our community on long term basis.

• The principles that you will never change:
Honesty.

• One thing you can't forgive nor forget?
Betrayal.

• A dream that you wish to come true?
Making my country a better place to live in so our young generation doesn’t leave it. Our Lebanon needs them, if we don’t provide a decent living as well as a healthy environment, then we will lose our hope and future by losing them.

• A challenge that you are facing now?
Making out of Mtayleb a paradigm and a paradise.

• What cause will you always fight for?
Corruption is and always be the battle to lead in order to save our country. Talking about corruption is useless, real action needs to be taken.

• What did life teach you?
Faith and patience are the shields that protect you against all odds whilst endurance and perseverance are the weapons we wield to fight for what we believe in.
