Born in Lebanon, to a Lebanese father & an Iraqi mother, Rima spent her childhood in Sydney away from the Lebanese war. Back there, she inhaled the Anglo Saxon culture, discipline and most of all respect of others.

After holding her economics degree, she came back to her mother land in 1993 where she started a flourishing TV career as a presenter at the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation (LBC) for seven years.
Her beauty, charisma and down to earth personality raised her to the highest level of fame.

In 2003, she got married to Sleiman Frangieh, Leader of Elmarada political party. Since then, Rima dedicated her positive energy to social reinforcement and volunteered her time to various charity causes.

In 2004, she founded Al Midan NGO, nongovernmental organization which embraces many events and festivals such as “Ehdeniyat International Festival” and “Christmas by the lake”

One of Rima’s first priorities is the welfare of autistic Childs.
In 2010 she raised autism awareness by founding the first and only Autism Center in the North, (NAC) which offers a high quality of specialized and personalized help to treat autistic children; guiding them, from very early stage, with professional therapists, doctors and psychologists as well as helping them integrate in schools.

• NAC greatest challenge?
Raising public awareness was the hardest yet initial step.
Today NAC successfully helps more than 70 children.

• How do you cover the high running costs?
Beside the collaboration of Social Affairs’ Ministry and autistic kids’ families, we organize a lot of fund raising events.

• Your latest project?
Starting the 20th of April 2015, the North Center for Diagnosis and intervention, (NCDI) will be ready to help all children with any type of difficulties.

• What is the role of the Lebanese Government?
We highly appeal for the coordination of the Education, Health and Social Affairs’ Ministries.
Their cooperation is very important to offer help, on all levels, for children with difficulties.
