Born in Tripoli, Raymond always vowed a special attachment to his roots “Ehden” where he used to spend every summer with his childhood best friends Sleiman Frangieh and Wahib Nini.
Although he has been admitted in Paris-Dauphine University and after receiving, in 1984, his Lebanese Baccalaureate in mathematics, Raymond decides to follow his father’s steps and pursue his law studies in Lebanon. As soon as he graduated in 1988, he got married to Wadad, the love of his life since 1979.
After achieving his training, and joining the Beirut Bar Association in 1990, he opened, in 1996, with his father the notorious lawyer Joseph Araygi, a study in Sin el-Fil.
Two years later, he established with his managing partner Gaby Maalouli, Araygi & Maalouly Law Firm, a leading full practice law firm.
Raymond’s dedication and close friendship with Sleiman Franjieh propelled him into the political field where he held an official position within several ministries as Franjieh’s adviser: Ministry of Public Health (1996 - 1998) and (2000-2004), Ministry of Agriculture (1998-2000), Ministry of Interior and Municipalities (2004-2005).
In 2006, the Marada are legally constituted and Raymond Araygi became a member of the political bureau, responsible for external relations notably embassies.
Since February 2014 the Lebanese Ministery of Culture is witnessing its Minister’s great achievemnts notably the Contemporary Virtual Museum, Raymond’s challenge and baby.
