She has fire in her hair, sparkles in her eyes and stars on her cheeks. She is our Lebanese Champ and with no contest, our national pride.
In a time where all western nations perceive Lebanon as a country of war and terrorism, Jackie stood up for her motherland, showing the world, its beauty, tenacity and civilized image.
JACKIE CHAMOUN
Born in 1991, Jackie grew up within a ski lover’s family. She was at the early age of 3 when she first got initiated to her life’s passion. She started her journey at Faraya- Mzaar in her uncle’s, Carlos Fenianos, “ski Passion” school along with her brother Dany and her cousins Tarek and Nino, then on a later stage she trained with her French coach Arnaud Maillet in “Faraya Mzaar Club”.
If it was only up to her, Jackie would have left aside her education in order to follow her dream. Thanks to her family persistence, she pursued her high school studies in the “Grand Lycée Franco Libanais de Beyrouth” and then headed to “Glion Institute of Higher Education,” in Switzerland, where she unhooked her Bachelor degree of Business Administration in Event, Sport and Entertainment Management.
Jackie expanded her wings and challenged international skiers. She was ranked 1st of the overall Lebanese women ranking (seasons 2007/2008; 2008/2009; 2012/2013).
She also represented Lebanon at World Ski Championships: Val d’Isere, France 2009; Schladming, Austria 2013 and at the Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, Canada 2010 as well as in Sochi, Russia 2014.
Jackie faced many geographical challenges. Along with the Lebanese warm weather, soft snow and short training slopes, rises the authorities’ lack of support for sports in general and ski in particular. Fortunately, the actual Lebanese Ski Federation is performing some progress and supported Jackie in her latest race in Sochi 2014 at all moral and physical aspects.
Along with her ski passion, Jackie is also building her future.
She Completed her trainings in Paris at Havas Sport and in Monaco at Peace and Sport Organization. She is now working in a luxury business field.
