The passion of serving his country drove him at the age of 18 to the military college where he graduated 3 years later as lieutenant. His perseverance and merit promoted him until he reached in 2005 the rank of General. On a later stage, in 2011, he occupied the position of ISF Institute Commander. In 2014 the government appointed him as ISF director general after he served as acting director general in 2013.
His praiseworthy path accredited him with many awards such as Lebanese Merit (1st, 2nd, 3rd, degrees), South- Lebanon Dawn & National Unity, National Cedar (Knight) (Officer) (Commodore), Medal of the ministry of Interior and Municipalities, Competence, State Security and ISF Medal.
General Basbous astuteness and diligence accredited him the pride of supervising more than 1050 ISF women training sessions and the privilege of participating in many training conferences, in Lebanon and abroad, which tackled drug, terrorism, and arms trafficking.

Physically they have received the exact same training as men. They are fit and ready to do a man’s job whenever they are asked to.

To create a typical community police unit based on female component. This advanced unit will interact with the citizens and will be backed up with the latest technology.
•What personality marked you in your life?
My wife Iman. The harmony between us was born from the first second until now. She stood by me in all circumstances and brought continual support, love and respect to our family.
